Tournament Rules

Captain's Rules

  • Maximum of 4 ladies per team 
  • Bay fishing only 
  • Captain cannot cast, set the hook or reel in fish for our Broads unless she is a Lil' Broad having a hard time reeling a big fish 
  • Offshore fishing is not permissible 
  • Captain cannot fish in this tourney 
  • Captain is allowed to bait hook, net fish & bring fish into the boat 
  • Captains priority is the safety of our ladies 

Broad's Rules

  1. All ladies participating in the tournament must have a valid fishing license and salt water stamp. Lil'  Broads do not need fishing license. 
  2. All public bays in Brazoria County may be fished including San Luis Pass, includes West Galveston Bay and adjacent waters to Bastrop Bay; Matagorda Bay is included. Offshore fishing is not permissible.
  3. All legal means of fishing are permitted including artificial lures.
  4. Winning prizes will be determined by weight in each category. The largest fish in each category will be paid a cash prize. The prize amounts will be determined by the number of entries. In case of tie, the first fish to weigh in will win.
  5. To be eligible for weigh in participants must be on the dock at Headquarters by 5:00 p.m. Weigh in will  close at 5:00 p.m. Please be on time or you forfeit your entry.
  6. The fish caught during the tournament may be kept by the participant. 
  7. Dinner plates and a drink will be sold for $12.00 each. Meal is included in the entry fee for anglers and captain only. 
  8. All proceeds generated by the tournament will go back in the tournament to continue Broads with Rods Tournaments annually. 
  9. All decisions on all aspects of the tournament are to be made final by the director or designee of the director. 
  10. The tournament will take place rain or shine except for severe weather. 
  11. Broads With Rods is a non profit organization founded to assist families in need and/or organizations that serve our American Veterans, individuals with a disability, neglected and abused children or senior citizens.

  13. Ceremony begins at 6:00 p.m. All winners will be announced during our ceremony.

One entry form per person!

We reserve the right to refuse entry forms from anyone at our discretion. 

All winners are subject to a polygraph test on site at the time of weigh-in. Refusal of test forfeits winnings.
