Kristin is Nora's step daughter and life long resident of Brazoria County. Kristin was raised on Bastrop Bayou and has always loved being on the water. She has been a volunteer with Broads with Rods since it's origination in 2008. Kristin became our official certified weigh master in 2010.

Crystal is Nora's daughter and life long resident of Brazoria County. She lives in Rosharon with her husband Uvaldo. They have five children, two son-in-laws and four grandchildren. The entire family has been volunteering with Broads with Rods since it's origination in 2008.

Our Host - Captain Mark
Captain Mark's Bastrop Marina has been the host for Broads with Rods Fishing Tournament since its formation in 2008.
Bastrop Marina is a full-service Marina located on the Gulf Coast in Freeport, TX. This facility provides easy access to West Galveston Bay, Christmas Bay, Bastrop Bay, San Luis Pass and other surrounding bay systems, making it the perfect spot to launch your boat and enjoy all the area has to offer!

Bubba is our annual tournament auctioneer! He has a talent for engaging the audience and has been a true blessings for our organization!
Family
Family
It's a family tradition! Combined, Fred and Nora Hooker have 5 children, 13 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. The entire family, including Nora's brothers and sisters, come together each year to volunteer for the tournament.
Honoring Deputy Jesus "Jesse" Vargas
For the 2025 Broads with Rods Fishing Tournament, our organization has decided to donate all of the auction proceeds to the family of Deputy Jesus "Jesse" Vargas.
